Bustin' Out: Sugar City Dance Party

Rockers, soul boys, and punks - come together! Sugar City presents a party that'll smack you upside your head and make you remember the power of rock and roll! Featuring all your favorites from legends like James Brown, Otis Redding, The Ramones, New York Dolls, Curtis Mayfield, Devo, and many more. Bring a mix CD or tape to show your friends how hip you are and get a buck off!

Groove to tunes by Sugar Citizen Dan Carosa, La Cacahouette's Blake Ellman and Nick Gordon of London Vs New York. Come on down Friday night to get up, shake your hips, and let your backbone slip!
This will be Sugar City's last major hurrah before the new year. We've been working together for over 8 months and have programmed almost two dozen events. We are very excited about taking the next step and fully realizing our vision. Please come out, show your support and help us get the real party started!

For those that are unfamiliar, Sugar City exists as an alternative community arts and cultural group to share and create art based on participatory culture and a do-it-together attitude. Events and initiatives include, but are not limited to, establishing a non-hierarchical all ages venue for music, films, a zine library, meeting space, local craft corner, art gallery, workshops, and workspaces. We want to break down the barriers of what is and isn't "art" because in some way everyone is an artist. Sugar City is about sharing creativity and energy. This organization focuses itself on the exhibition, performance, and creation of art for those who cannot obtain space from traditional sources.
